Imgur Direct Link Generator
Paste imgur.com links — pages, galleries or albums — and get direct image links and embed codes in any size.
Image, gallery and album links · one per line · up to 50 at once
What is an Imgur direct link?
Every Imgur image has two addresses. The page link, like imgur.com/AbC12xY, opens Imgur’s website with the image, comments and ads around it. The direct link, like i.imgur.com/AbC12xY.jpg, is the image file itself.
Direct links are what you need to embed an image in a forum post, a Markdown README, an HTML page, an eBay listing or a Reddit link post. Paste page links above and this tool hands back the direct ones.
How it works
How to get a direct link from Imgur
Paste your Imgur links
Add imgur.com page, gallery or album links above — one per line, up to 50 at a time.
Pick a format and size
Choose direct links, Markdown, HTML, BBCode or Imgur page links, then a thumbnail size if you want one.
Copy the result
Copy everything with “Copy all”, or grab single links from the list.
Imgur thumbnail sizes
Imgur makes smaller copies of every image. Add a letter after the image ID to get one — for example i.imgur.com/AbC12xYm.jpg is the medium thumbnail. Pick a size above and the tool adds it for you.
| Letter | Size | Dimensions |
|---|---|---|
s | Small square | 90 × 90 px, cropped |
b | Big square | 160 × 160 px, cropped |
t | Small thumbnail | up to 160 px, keeps the shape |
m | Medium thumbnail | up to 320 px |
l | Large thumbnail | up to 640 px |
h | Huge thumbnail | up to 1024 px |
Turn on Clickable thumbnails to wrap each thumbnail in a link to the full-size image — the usual way to post galleries on forums.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why does my Imgur link show a page instead of the image?
Links like imgur.com/AbC12xY open Imgur’s page around the image. Forums, Markdown, HTML and many chat apps need the direct file link instead — i.imgur.com/AbC12xY.jpg — which is what this tool gives you.
Does it work with Imgur albums and gallery posts?
Yes. Paste an album (imgur.com/a/…) or gallery (imgur.com/gallery/…) link and you get a direct link for every image in it, plus the album link itself.
Can I get direct links for GIFs and videos?
Yes. GIFs keep their .gif link and videos get their .mp4 link. Imgur’s .gifv links are turned into the .mp4 file they play. In Markdown and BBCode, which can’t embed video, a video becomes a still image that links to it.
Do Imgur direct links expire?
No. A direct link keeps working for as long as the image stays on Imgur.
Is the Imgur direct link generator free?
Yes, it is free and needs no account.
